We all know that we have a unique skill or talent, that’s nothing new or earth shattering … but what we do with them can be.
Society shouts every day to be responsible and have a job, I’m asking why that is? Why is the only acceptable form of financial responsibility a job?
Why would you spend years, maybe even a lifetime, developing your talents to give them away to an employer? Or to maybe not really use them at all and give your precious life away and secretly wish you were happy.
The simple answer, it’s what you know most likely.
What would open up to take a stand for yourself? Find a solution for the pieces of your life you believe can only be met by your employer (for example health insurance, a retirement plan)
There was a time where I saw the world through the same lens, no more. About 11 years ago the questioning started and now I am sitting in Doha, Qatar sharing my passion with you. I’m sure you’ve heard the ‘road isn’t always easy’ speech before … Bullshit! No road is easy, stop using that as an excuse. You either want to take charge of your life or not. When you’re ready this post will be here.
You may not be able to see your purpose in life right now, but I’m betting it isn’t to sit in a cubicle and give someone else your talents. The world is literally waiting for what you have to give, your purpose is in the journey. The people you will meet, the adventures you will experience is your purpose.
Since starting this journey in to the unknown of self discovery and living for my passions I have had countless opportunities to fulfill my purpose. I set a goal of life travels, living on a sailboat at least part time and a career that allowed a ton of freedom to roam. On the surface that does not look to have a lot of purpose, but the journey has opened up public speaking to inspire people in to action, meeting people around the world that couldn’t connect with their own dream and helping people expand their life with online marketing. It is possible.
Create the life that is sitting inside you screaming to get out. Find a mentor that will help you create a plan to get from that initial point A to point B, and then jump!
